Volkswagen has introduced the ID.Every1 concept, signaling its commitment to affordable electric mobility. This compact, four-seater electric vehicle is set to launch in Europe by 2027, with a target price of around €20,000 (approximately £17,000).
The production version of the ID Every1 will sit on a modified version of the new front-wheel-drive MEB Entry platform, which has been developed for the forthcoming ID 2, ID 2X, Cupra Raval and Skoda Epiq. Those models will all be built at the Seat factory in Martorell, Spain.
Measuring 3,880 mm in length, the ID.Every1 draws inspiration from the Volkswagen Up, presenting a modern yet approachable design. It features a distinctive front fascia with prominent LED headlights and a blacked-out upper grille, giving it a friendly appearance. The side profile showcases subtly sculpted wheel arches and 19-inch wheels, while the rear design maintains a cohesive look with integrated lighting elements.
The interior emphasises versatility and digital integration, featuring a minimalist design with a large floating infotainment screen. Physical buttons for essential functions like climate control and volume are retained for user convenience. Innovative elements include a new two-spoke steering wheel and a removable Bluetooth speaker, enhancing the in-car experience.
The ID.Every1 will debut Volkswagen's new software architecture, developed in collaboration with Rivian. This platform enables over-the-air updates and upgrades, allowing the vehicle to adapt to evolving customer needs throughout its lifecycle.
